A Different Way of Doing Things

It’s a small local market and there are a lot of players. Some of them are big hitters.  At English in the Office, we know you can take your business anywhere.  That’s why we strive harder to stand out from the bigger language schools.  Our clients are our bread and butter.  Without you, we wouldn’t eat. So, in our eyes, our clients are the best.  And how we take care of each of them makes EITO the best.  We live by our reputation in the market and we work hard to protect our good name.

Our clients enjoy the fact that we are a medium sized school that is small enough to actually care about our teachers and students alike, while being large and stable enough to manage the unique requirements that each new class brings. Our clients find us to be a dependable language school that meets their needs as the client, and the needs of their employees as students in our classes as well.

EITO’s teachers live here and work here.

We do not work with tourist teachers.  Our native speaking teachers join our team already having lived and worked here for years and having a grasp on the Czech culture, history and language. Their experience in the Czech Republic gives them a great advantage over their big school counterparts when it comes to understanding where students learning English are coming from. This naturally benefits our students in ways not imaginable by some newly trained teacher who is completely new to the Czech Republic.  We prefer to work with “lifers.”  Almost all of our native speaking teachers have chosen to stay and live in the CZR. They are not going home.  They already are home.  All of them have already been here and teaching for years, not just a few months, weeks or days. Due to this, EITO and our clients benefit from the experience and stability not often found in big Schools which charge foreigners to come to the CZR and “learn to teach” before employing them, and sending them out into the real teaching world to sink or swim.  Most of them do not even last here a year, before they leave.

Our local (non native) English speaking teachers are also outstanding in their length of experience and command of English and ability to teach it.  We work with teachers who have lived or studied abroad and are truly capable in the classroom.  We simply do not hire inexperienced teachers. We leave it up to the Big Schools to “turn and burn” new teachers in and out of their organizations with chilling regularity.  EITO does not have the turnover problems of finding new teachers to replace the ones who are always on the way out the door.  We do not advertise for new teachers on international websites.  In fact, we have never needed to place any advertisement for a teacher. Nor do we train “newbies.”

We work within the local community to hand pick the best teachers from the crowd.  We largely recruit by referral (from clients, students and teachers).  We value the opinions of those we trust and work with.  This personalized and caring approach to recruitment is felt and appreciated by those in the Human Resource offices of our clients, as well as by the students in our classes.  Our stability, quality and experience are easy to see and feel.

Consider:

No one wants to be the one to approve and sign some long and complicated contract full of restrictions and conditions, and loaded with threats and penalties, that some high paid attorney thought up to protect the financial interest of some big school, only to shortly realize that they regularly need to send in new teachers because of student complaints, or teachers leaving town.

EITO solves that problem for our clients before it can even begin.  We only work with experience proven language teaching professionals with the skills, qualifications, and motivation to continuously bring our students’ language abilities to the next level.

Our teachers are real people and yes, they are real teachers.  They have a job to do and they each have their own reputation to uphold as well as ours.  EITO's teachers care.  They care about their students.  Our teachers are not preparing to get on a plane and leave forever anytime soon.  They are known for forming long lasting bonds and friendships with their students.  It is not unheard of for an EITO  teacher and their students to come to like each other so much that they sometimes spend free time together by, meeting for an evening in the pub, going on trips, attending weddings… and sometimes even getting married to each other (true story).  Of course you could just go with the big named machine and your company and your employees can pay for the “on the job training” for some new stranger who walks into class every few months or so and then unsuccessfully tries to pronounce your name as they explain that they are your “new” new teacher.  Life is about preferences and choices.

Which language school would would you prefer? English in the Office.
